I currently drive for FedEx in the state of Illinois while my drivers license is issued from the state of Wisconsin. I had an ICD implanted in January of 2024 as a preventative measure. I have had no issues or shocks from the device. Will I still be able to drive for FedEx and if I had a DOT doctor disqualify me, can I dispute that disqualification?

Everything will depend on the class cdl you hold. Class A, you should have had a new medical certification examination, once released to return to work. A lesser class cdl falls under the states requirements and variances. This may allow for the defibrillator. DOT/FMCSA for class A interstate, you are going to have plenty of hoops to get through, with no guarantees. Intra-state only will be under the states provisions, not FMCSA.
